Lori was born in Lethbridge, Alberta,
raised in Victoria, B.C., then moved to Vancouver at the age of 23
to study Fine Art at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design.
She graduated from ECCAD with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies
and Sculpture in 1985.
Abstract painting in acrylic is Lori's current focus. This ongoing
body of work began in the summer of 2000 after time spent at the
Atlin School of Art in northern B.C. where the surrounding environment
inspired a new perspective and vision which she continues to explore and
expand upon. The textures, colour, pattern, light, energy and spirit
of nature continue to be a constant source of inspiration.
From 1986 until the present, Lori's
art practice includes mixed media painting in acrylic, water colour,
drawings in oil pastel, mixed media assemblage icons, sculptural painted
jewelry, costume and accessory design and creation in theatre, film and
television.
Lori's paintings are held in private collections nationally and
internationally.
